Girls reach the semis at LVS Ascot

Last week we had the ISA girls’ football tournament at LVS Ascot. There were nine other schools taking part. We got off to a great start, drawing 1-1 with Lyonsdown and feeling confident thanks to an inspired goal off the post. We had a narrow loss to Southbank International School but we beat St Mary's 1-0 thanks to a great team goal. We played the eventual winners, Shoreham College, who were ridiculously good and beat us 3-0. However, we qualified for the semi-finals on goal difference. Yes! In the semis we played Gateway, an imposing side brimming with confidence after a penalty shootout. Unfortunately we lost 1-0. In the playoff for third place we went a goal down to Southbank Hampstead. We had the best time and we learned to communicate more efficiently, keep to our positions and be more decisive. Well done to all the girls, Mr Will and Coach Steve and many thanks to the other schools who took part and LVS Ascot for hosting us. Photo credit: Vervate
