Year 3 football team goes prospecting for silver
The Year 3 Prospect House football tournament last week was a fantastic opportunity for the team to participate against other players in their own age group. Freddie and Henrik have played many matches this term, competing against boys a year older than them. The experiences leading up to the competition really helped all of them with their confidence. The belief that they could succeed in one of these tournaments was evident and the silver medals for coming second out of 11 teams were thoroughly well deserved. Well done to the team, Mr Will, our head of sport, and Coach Steve from the Chelsea Foundation, who helps coach KS2 and runs our superb Chelsea after-school football club.
'In the first two matches we lacked a little concentration. We drew 0-0 with Orchard House and lost 3-0 to a good team from The Hurlingham School. The other three matches we concentrated really hard and we won them all! We came second in the tournament out of 11 teams. I think the best player in our team was Freddie.' (Leon)
'This week Year 3 had a football tournament against five strong teams. We won 3 matches, drew one and lost one. I'd never won so many matches in a day before. We came 2nd place overall. Everyone was very happy though we got very muddy!' (Victor)
