In this month’s Families South West magazine our headmaster, Mr Tim Cannell, looks at his recent move from West Sussex to London and the 11+ in the capital’s schools on page 25.
Well done to all our teachers and children at Parson Green Prep. They wore their jeans at school on Friday to raise money for Jeans for Genes Day. We collected £268.96 at the door and wanted to say a big thank you to all those who contributed to this great cause.
It’s great to see our top five more unusual morning and after-school clubs featured in this month’s Fulham & Putney Life magazine. Many thanks to Life Magazines for the inclusion.
On Monday Prospect House hosted a Year 6 football tournament. We played some high-level football, particularly against Orchard House, where we came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2. We again drew with Wimbledon Study 2-2 courtesy of some fantastic goal scoring from two of our players.
Our Work of the Week comes from Year 4. Their topic this term is Romans. They listened to the story of Romulus and Remus, all about the birth of Rome. The class then produced their own storyboard. This is Mila’s excellent effort where she clearly summarises the tale. Good job Mila!
The World Harmony Peace Run team visited Parsons Green Prep on Monday before heading to France. The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run is a global torch relay that embodies humanity's universal aspiration for peace.
The whole school loved fundraising for Doorstep Library over the last academic year. This local charity organises teams of volunteers to visit the same five families at home every week with rucksacks full of stories.
A very warm welcome back to all our current and new children, parents and staff. We hope that you had a fantastic summer holiday and we are looking forward to a great autumn term packed with learning, adventure and fun.
