Tag rugby festival
PGP hosted eight schools in a Year 3 Tag Rugby Festival at Hurlingham Park. Thank you to Brighton College Kensington, St James Prep, Pembridge Hall, Ibstock Place School, Wandsworth Prep, Westminster Under School, Prospect House and the Merlin School for travelling. It was an excellent afternoon of rugby and it was great to see so many children taking part.
Handwriting competition
Pupils perfected their handwriting style for the ISA handwriting competition. With a focus solely on handwriting, they could concentrate on letter formation, ascenders and descenders and, in the Prep School, on joined cursive writing. It is fantastic to see the fluency and individuality within the pupils’ handwriting.
ISA London West U11 five-a-side football competition
PGP competed in this year’s boys ISA London West U11 five-a-side football competition. They started off the competition with two narrow losses, conceding in the last minute of the game and losing 1-0 to Waverley Prep and then 2-1 to Herries Prep School. Lessons were learned and PGP rebounded with a 1-0 win against Long Close School to qualify for the semi-finals of the plate competition. PGP went on to win the semi-finals against Eaton Square School 2-0. PGP then played their best match of the tournament, beating LVS Ascot in the final 2-0 to win the ISA London West U11 five-a-side plate competition. Well done to everyone on an excellent achievement.
House Singing Competition
For the House Singing Competition all houses sang their hearts out and put in excellent team performances. The theme this year was positivity and the compulsory song was Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles. We also had Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and two songs from The Greatest Showman in the vocal arena. With votes from the teachers, our winning house, Attenborough, was ultimately decided by our expert guest judge and former choral singer, Mr Locke. Well done everyone!
