Our new Wellbeing Shed, a Hindu temple visit and victory in tag rugby

Posted: 5th March 2025

To chime with Children’s Mental Health Week and continue to have a calm area during break time, Miss Hannah, our Head of Pastoral Care and Wellbeing (and brilliant Reception teacher), has set up our new Wellbeing Shed. This includes a selection of different big board books in the doors, colouring pencils and crayons and a Regulation Station (for self-regulating emotions and behaviours). The shed will be overseen by our Wellbeing Committee and ‘Choose it, use it and put it away’ is the slogan. Great work!

Reception take their parents into space

As part of our Space topic, the Reception children invited their parents in to explore how astronauts live in space. After reading Suzy Orbit, Astronaut by Ruth Quayle, the children and their adult were tasked to design and create their own International Space Station. They thought about the specific media and materials they needed to use alongside the size and shape of each area. Well done Pandas and Panda Parents.

The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir

Year 4 had a wonderful trip to the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, the Hindu temple in Neasden in north London. We were lucky enough to have a tour of the Mandir and participate in a prayer ceremony. We all loved it and learnt a lot about Hinduism.

Tag Rugby Fixtures vs Wandsworth Prep

PGP hosted Wandsworth Prep in eight tag rugby matches at Hurlingham Park. On Monday it was the turn of Year 3 and Year 4. They had four impressive wins with Year 3 winning 16-4 and 10-9. Year 4 won their matches 13-1 and 12-2. On Wednesday Year 5 and Year 6 combined to play four matches. The red team won their match 10-4. The green team won their match 11-8. The yellow team won 5-3 and the blue team won their match 7-5. Well played Wandsworth Prep and well done to our players for an excellent first week of fixtures; they have made a lot of progress so far this term and showed fantastic teamwork and handling skills.
